history

Since its inception, one of the unique things about Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra is that it has helped humanitarian organizations through donated performances. For the past three years, Ars Flores has traveled to Cayman, Jamaica, and Atlanta, Georgia for humanitarian trips to help raise money for the poor.

Ars Flores performed alongside professional Jamaican musicians, actors, dancers, and singers. Performances in Jamaica were in the Kingston arena, an indoor facility that seats 5,000. Ars Flores was the orchestra for a three-hour, originally composed religious Caribbean opera, entitled Jesus 2000. These performances have been for audiences totaling about 80,000, raising money for the Missionaries of the Poor. This international organization clothes, feeds, and cares for "unadoptable" children and terminally ill and extremely poor elderly in locations around the world. While in Cayman and Jamaica, Ars Flores provided educational concerts and masterclasses for schools and communities.
