Ars Flores Family Concert and Arts Carnival
December 7, 2002
Arts Carnival 12:30pm
Concert 2:00pm
Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center
Nova Southeastern University
Davie
The first annual "Carnival of the Animals" Family Concert offered South Florida school children and their families an exciting Concert, preceded by a homespun Music and Arts Carnival. This free day of music and fun featured outdoor events such as an instrument petting zoo, balloons, face painting, food, art, dance, and special opportunities for children to meet the musicians.
Of course, the highlight of the day came when everyone took their seats in Nova Southeastern University's beautiful new Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center to hear the Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra perform a program to delight concertgoers of all ages. The orchestra's lively interpretation of the "Carnival of the Animals" was beautifully complemented by over 100 pieces of artwork produced by Broward County school children as part of the "Carnival of the Animals" Coloring Contest.
